The 2022 National Taekwondo Club Tournament – Republic of Korea Ambassador Cup is part of the activities marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (1992 – 2022) and the ‘National Year of Tourism – Quang Nam 2022.
During a press conference held on Wednesday, March 2 in Hanoi, Vu Xuân Thành, Deputy Head of the High Performance Sports Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, also Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation, announced that the athletes would compete in the combat and poomsae events according to three age groups of 12 to 14 years old, 15 to 17 years old and over 17 years old.
The organizing committee has drawn up a plan for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, said a representative from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam Province.
The 2022 National Taekwondo Club Tournament – Republic of Korea Ambassador Cup – will be a good opportunity for athletes to meet each other, improve their skills and prepare for major sporting events such as the 31are Southeast Asian Sports Games (SEA Games 31), or the 19are Asian Games (ASIAD 19), said the deputy head of the Vietnam Sports Administration, Lê Thi Hoàng Yên.
Organized by the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation and the South Korea Cultural Center in Vietnam, the event will contribute to strengthening cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea in sports.
