A great mobilization of the club around the preparation of the 24th edition of the Eric Ly Taekwondo Cup organized on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 April. An educational meeting reserved for beginners. More than twenty volunteers worked throughout the weekend to welcome more than two hundred competitors from twelve clubs throughout the region to the local gym.
A true success noted by a large audience and the elected officials of the municipality in the person of Marie Claire Loose, assistant in charge of associative life, who came on Saturday to present the trophies and Jean Luc Tronco, mayor of Escalquens, himself a martial arts amateur, who came on Sunday to attend the demonstrations of the club’s senior team: “We are happy to be able to revive this event after two years of strict sanitary measures”, explains Frédéric Foubert, founder of the Escalquinois club and master of taekwondo and sonmudo
The club, in addition to its educational and intergenerational function, continues to develop projects”. It should be noted that young referees in training also participated in these meetings. The club is already preparing for future events.
