Guyanese Lyve-Stone Célin vice-champion of France in taekwondo

This Sunday Lyve-Stone Célin became French runner-up in taekwondo. Result obtained at the Stade Gerland de Lyon in the category of less than 74 kg. The member of Insep points to the European Championship.



It’s a winning return to canvas for Lyve-Stone Célin. The 21-year-old Guyanese shone this weekend in his return to top competition after a break of almost 2 years due to the pandemic. He climbed to the second step of the podium thus becoming runner-up in France in taekwado 2022 :

“This result is consistent, even I wanted to get first place, but these are the first French championships since this pandemic. For a recovery it is not bad at all, knowing that 2 years ago I was in the less than 68 kg. It was my first French championship in this new category under 74 kg, so this 2nd place is a good thing”

Lyve-Stone, a member of the Champigny club, has been at Insep de Vincennes for 3 years and is on a successful track record with the 2024 Olympics in sight.

In 2020 hope was crowned champion of France, it was his 4th title. Reconnect with the competitions that will now continue internationally: “Next weekend I am going to Belgium and two weeks later to Spain to qualify for the European Championship. »

The young man is also studying to obtain a BTS in real estate.
