Taekwondo: Frontignan Djani Soubiron seizes the title of champion of Occitania

The youngest shone in the “under 27 kg”.

On Sunday, March 20, the Occitania championship took place in Claira (Pyrenees-Orientales), bringing together athletes from different categories from numerous clubs.

The Frontignan club was notably represented by Djani Soubiron as the youngest (under 27kg). Despite his young age, Djani is characterized by his ability to chain fights combining great technicality and power. Courageous and attentive to the advice of his coach for the occasion, also benefiting from the surprise effect with his opponents (it was his first participation in the regional), he made his way to the final.

His opponents from the three bracket fights before the final were dismissed with ease. It should be noted that during this event he was also able to evolve with the electronic chest protector regulated by the Taekwondo Federation.

His coach Mathis Moutain, several times runner-up in France, can be proud of his young pupil. A coach who will also have an important next deadline. At the end of the sports year, he will take the exam to obtain the black belt (1st dan).
