The women’s French Open will be played in Deauville in 2022

This will be the first time in the history of the women’s French Open.

Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), organizer of the event, announces this Wednesday that the Lacoste Ladies Open de France will take place in 2022 in Normandy after four editions played at the Golf du Médoc, from 2018 to 2021. The event, sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour, will be played at the Diane Barrière de Golf Barrière Deauville course, from September 15 to 17, 2022. This is the first time in its history that the Women’s French Open goes to Deauville. This Calvados star course will also receive the next two editions. In 2021, on the Médoc course, Céline Boutier became the fifth Frenchwoman to lift the French Open trophy after Marie-Laure de Lorenzi in 1988, 1993, 1995, Patricia Meunier-Lebouc in 2000, Stéphanie Arricau in 2004 and Celine Herbin in 2015.
